Hey there,
My name is Micah LeClair.
I am an independent freelance videographer, an adventurer, and a professional with a deep love for storytelling and our natural world. My life has been shaped by wild places, hard work, and a deep respect for our planet. Whether I am filming in extreme conditions, or editing, everything I do is guided by one purpose:
to tell the story that is many times hidden within the story.

About Me
Northern Exposure began for me a few years ago for a practical reason. I needed a
legitimate banner under which to enter an amateur film contest. What started as a fun project
quickly turned into something much more for me.
Like many people drawn to filmmaking in extreme environments and the adventure sports world,
I was inspired by fast-paced edits, slow-motion moments, and that split-second “that was close” tension.
As an extreme adventure sports enthusiast myself, I had a clear vision for the concept of how i wanted
my films to look. It didn’t take long however to realize that great shots and exciting music only go so far.
What truly elevated a film, from good to great I realized, was the story unfolding between the frames.
The quiet moments. The struggle, connection, humor, fear, and triumph that don’t announce
themselves but are always there.
That realization changed everything. I discovered a passion, and a knack for seeing the
deeper and often untold story. To translating human experience into something others can not only watch
but feel. Since then, Northern Exposure has become my vehicle for storytelling.
As a freelance film maker my goal isn’t just to create high-quality videography, but to share stories that resonate.
Stories told from the perspective of those living them, while inviting viewers in, regardless of
where they’re from or what they do, to connect through shared emotion and experience.
I believe the most impactful stories tell themselves. My role is simply to listen, observe, and
mediate, letting authenticity lead the way.
Based in Alaska, I’ve had the opportunity to follow extreme athletes into incredible
places, alongside remarkable people, and to experience moments few ever get to witness
firsthand. Those experiences have shaped both my work and my approach. I’m always
ready for the next challenge, the next story, and the next adventure.
So let’s go.
